Risk Management Services

Because a risk register nobody reads protects nobody.

Risk Management That Reflects the Work, Not Just the Paperwork

A risk register that nobody refers to, a risk assessment completed once and never reviewed, a SWMS signed but not understood. These are the most common forms of risk management in Australian workplaces, and they provide almost no real protection when something goes wrong.

Effective risk management is not about having the right documents in a folder. It is about having the right conversations, building the right controls into how work is actually done, and giving your people the tools and understanding to make good decisions under pressure. That is what Foresight ELS builds.

We develop risk management frameworks, assessment tools and operational controls across all four of our core sectors, tailored to the specific hazards, regulatory environment and operational realities of each.

Risk Management Across Our Four Sectors

Construction and Trades

Construction risk is present at every stage, from procurement and subcontractor engagement through to on-site execution and project handover. We build risk frameworks that cover physical safety risks, subcontractor and contractor risk, contractual exposure and the project-level risks that affect programme, quality and cost. For tradies, we develop practical SWMS and risk assessment tools that satisfy principal contractor requirements without creating unnecessary administrative burden.

Schools and Education

Schools carry a risk profile that is genuinely unique. Excursion risk, contractor access, sports and physical activity, student welfare, staff safety and the management of community events all sit within the WHS obligations of a principal. We develop school-specific risk assessment frameworks and tools, including excursion risk assessments, class task risk assessments, hazard registers and contractor risk controls, designed to be used by teaching and support staff rather than requiring specialist safety knowledge to complete.

Manufacturing

Manufacturing environments require risk management that is embedded into production processes rather than sitting alongside them. Plant and equipment risks, chemical handling, manual tasks, noise, contractor access and product quality risks all require active identification and control. We build operational risk frameworks aligned to ISO 45001 and your specific production environment, covering safety risks, environmental risks and the quality-related risks that affect your product and your customer relationships.

Transport and Logistics

Transport risk extends well beyond the road. Fatigue management, load restraint, vehicle maintenance, scheduling pressure, depot safety and the Chain of Responsibility obligations of everyone in your supply chain all require structured risk management. We develop CoR-aligned risk frameworks that cover your operational safety risks, your obligations under the National Heavy Vehicle Laws, and the contractual and reputational risks that increasingly sit in scope for transport operators working with major clients.

What a Risk Management Engagement Looks Like

Every engagement starts with understanding how your business actually operates before we start building anything. This typically involves a review of your existing documentation, conversations with your operational team, and where relevant a site walkthrough. From that foundation we develop risk frameworks and tools that your people can genuinely use, then support the rollout so the documents do not just go into a system and disappear.

Depending on your needs, a risk management engagement might produce a hazard and risk register, a suite of risk assessment templates, updated SWMS or task-specific risk assessments, a contractor risk management process, or a broader operational risk framework. In most cases it involves some combination of these, structured around your specific obligations and operational context.
